NASBE President Comments on CDC School Reopening Guidance


Alexandria, VA –  NASBE President and CEO Robert Hull made the following statement about new school reopening guidance issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

 

NASBE appreciates the deliberative, collaborative approach the CDC and U.S. Department of Education took to develop the Operational Strategy for K-12 Schools released today. We look forward to reviewing it closely and advising state boards on the steps they can take to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and safely reopen and keep schools open for in-person learning. We hope this proactive cross-agency collaboration and leadership on best practices, resources, and science-based guidance will continue so that schools across the nation have what they need to ensure that every student receives an excellent education. State boards of education remain engaged partners in this effort.
