NASBE Contributes to National Reflections on a Decade of Early Childhood Policy Progress

The Early Educator Investment Collaborative has launched a series of papers marking 10 years since the National Academies’ landmark reports on strengthening the early childhood workforce and finance systems. The series reflects on what’s changed, what challenges remain, and where the field needs to go next to strengthen the early childhood education system.

NASBE’s Winona Hao authored one of the featured reports, highlighting how state boards of education are advancing policies to prepare, support, and elevate the early childhood workforce. “State boards of education are uniquely positioned to champion coherent policy, elevate early learning in state agendas, and ensure its workforce is well-prepared and supported,” Hao said.

Other contributors include the CAYL Institute, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Education, NAEYC, and the National Association for Family Child Care.

A companion webinar series will feature each organization’s insights. NASBE will present on November 5, 2:00–3:30 pm ET. Register for the webinar series here.
