NASBE Statement on Federal Communications Commission Net Neutrality Regulations

Alexandria, VA – Kris Amundson, president and CEO of the National Association of State Boards of Education, today expressed opposition to plans for eliminating the Federal Communications Commission’s Net Neutrality protections. Amundson said, “Our members care deeply about promoting educational equity and we see no evidence that eliminating the FCC’s Net Neutrality rules will help students. We need more, not less, oversight to ensure all students—including kids living in the nation’s most isolated rural and high poverty communities—have an opportunity to benefit from digital learning at school and at home.”
