NASBE will hold its third annual New Student Member Institute (NSMI) on Thursday, September 24, from 6 to 9 pm ET. NSMI is a free virtual training opportunity specifically designed for students serving on state boards of education and aims to equip student board members with the knowledge and confidence to lead by providing opportunities to develop a network of current and former student board members and learn about federal and state education policy landscapes. NASBE’s NSMI is the only training designed specifically for students serving as state board members, and we hope that participants will learn the skills they need to become strong advocates for the students in their state.
