NASBE Issues Statement on Confirmation of U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos

Alexandria, VA — The U.S. Senate today voted to confirm Betsy DeVos as the U.S. Secretary of Education. National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) President/CEO Kristen Amundson issued the following statement:

“NASBE has had a productive working relationship with every U.S. secretary of education since Shirley Hufstedler. At a time when states are shouldering greater responsibility for public education, we look forward to working with Secretary DeVos to advance the twin goals of excellence and equity for all students in our nation’s public schools.”
