R. Scott Gordon serves as board chair of the National Council of State Education Attorneys (NCOSEA), an affiliate of NASBE, and is an ex officio member of NASBE’s board.
Now in his fourteenth year with the Kansas State Department of Education, Gordon serves as General Counsel to the agency for whom he provides legal counsel on all matters. His past projects include helping write the Protection of Professional Educator Boundaries Act and the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact. Prior to working for the Kansas State Department of Education, he prosecuted all levels of drug-related crimes and juvenile sex offenders in Wichita, Kansas. Scott has coached state, national, and international championship-winning speech and debate teams from Central Missouri State University, Western Kentucky University, and the University of South Carolina.
