How Advance Placement Courses Fit within Career and Technical Education Programs
DATE: June 20, 2019
TIME: 3:00 to 4:00 PM (EDT)

Did you know that by 2020, 65 percent of all jobs will require postsecondary education or training beyond high school? All students need relevant knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century economy, prompting schools and states to consider integrating college- and career-ready course work. The College Board and Advance CTE recently partnered to examine how AP courses can integrate into CTE programs of study. The findings are published in the report, “Advanced Placement and Career and Technical Education: Working Together.”

Join NASBE for a webinar on June 20 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm (ET) with the College Board’s Alyssa Chudnofsky, director of K-12 policy, and Allison Danielsen, product lead for career readiness access to opportunity, to discuss how state leaders can place students on pathways that prepare them for college and career. Chudnofsky and Danielson will also highlight tools the College Board has developed to ensure every student has the relevant knowledge and skills to learn a new job, is ready for on-the-job or workplace training, and can advance within an industry or shift to another field.
