The Every Student Succeeds Act requires that state Title I plans be developed with “timely and meaningful consultation with state board of education members, teachers, principals, charter school leaders, parents, other school personnel, and others.” But the definition of “stakeholder involvement” varies widely from state to state.

Join NASBE, the Hunt Institute, and the National Council of State Legislatures on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm (EDT) for the first in a series of webinars focusing on ESSA implementation and stakeholder engagement. CCSSO’s Melissa McGrath will discuss what states are already planning for stakeholder engagement, while Washington’s Ben Rarick will talk about his state’s extraordinary effort to involve stakeholders in all aspects of developing the state plan.
