Housed within NASBE’s Center for Safe and Healthy Schools, the HIV, other STD, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Project is funded through a 5-year cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH). The agreement seeks to increase the capacity of  DASH-funded state and local education agencies in high incidence areas, and their health agency partners, in engaging policymakers and administrators, and other stakeholders to assess, then develop or revise, evaluate, and maintain effective sexual health promotion policies.   Also, the agreement seeks to build the skills of state and local education and health agencies to assist districts and/or schools in implementing effective policies and practices to improve the sexual health of students and prevent HIV, other STD, and unintended pregnancy.
