How much is conference registration?
Registration fees for Annual Conference 2019 are as follows:
Full Conference Registration – Early Bird Rate until September 20, 2019!
Member/Associate Member – $750 (after 9/20: $950)
Chief State School Officer – $750 (after 9/20: $950)
Non-Member State – $1,250 (after 9/20: $1,500)
NCSBEE Member (dues-paying state) – $750 (after 9/20: $950)
NASBE Past Chair (currently on state board) – $650 (after 9/20: $850)
NCOSEA – Member State (must register separately for special events) – $500 (after 9/20: $600)
NCOSEA – Non-Member State (must register separately for special events) – $600 (after 9/20: $700)
I don’t want to attend the whole conference. Can I register for only the preconference sessions or a single day?
Yes. If you want to attend only one day of the Annual Conference, please select “single day registration” when you register for the day you plan to attend.

(Preconference session requires registration. It is not necessary to register for the NASBE receptions if you are registering for the full conference.)
Where is State Night this year?
State Night will be at one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, the Durham Western Heritage Museum, housed in the historic art-deco Union Station.
Does NASBE make my hotel reservation?
No, all conference attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. Please call the hotel directly (402-998-3400) or use their online reservation website to book your room. To guarantee the special group rate of $149.00 per night (plus applicable taxes), you must make your reservation no later than Friday, September 20, 2019. After that date, higher rates will apply, and rooms may not be available. To make your reservation, identify yourself as a NASBE Conference attendee.
Making a reservation in NASBE’s room block is important. Meeting our financial obligations to the Hilton Omaha for our room block has a long-term benefit: It helps NASBE negotiate lower rates for our conferences in the future, and it lowers your out-of-pocket travel costs. When we fill our contracted room block, we avoid unnecessary financial penalties, which strengthen our negotiation efforts in the future to keep annual conference costs manageable.
How far away is the hotel from the airport? Are there airport shuttles available?
The airport is only a few miles away from the conference hotel, or about a 10-minute drive. The hotel runs a free shuttle to and from the airport every 20 minutes. Taxis are about $11 from the airport.
How do I access “PDA” funds for NASBE’s annual conference?
NASBE Professional Development Accounts (PDA) provide support to state board members who wish to participate in NASBE activities such as attending conferences, regional meetings, travel, and other related activities. It is a perfect way to fund your trip to NASBE’s Annual Conference 2019! If your state has set up a PDA with NASBE, individual members may use available funds by downloading and filling out a withdrawal request form.
