
Legislators from the Mie Prefectural Assembly in Japan and staff from the Japanese Embassy made NASBE headquarters a prime destination as part of a fact-finding tour about education in the U.S. that also included other of Washington, D.C.-based national organizations. NASBE—represented by Deputy Executive Director Brad Hull, Chief Knowledge Officer David Kysilko, and Senior Communications Manager Steve Berlin, with DC State Board of Education member Mary Lord—explained the sometimes labyrinthine structure of education governance in the U.S., and the role of state boards, among other issues.
