Stanley Ray Duncan, named the 2008 West Virginia History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and Preserve America, has received $1,000 and a core archive of history books, CDs, DVDs and other materials for his school library at Summers County High School in Hinton. Duncan, center, receives the award from West Virginia Department of Education Social Studies Coordinator Regina Scotchie, while West Virginia Senate Minority Leader Donald Caruth, R-Mercer, looks on.
