The Strengthen Leadership and Governance for HIV Prevention project is focused on providing research-based capacity-building assistance to DASH-funded state or local education agencies that have expressed a commitment to pursue HIV-related education policy and program improvement initiatives.

Synopsis of state actions developed at the conference convened for African Americans serving on State and Local Boards of Education to discuss the impact of HIV/AIDS and STDs among African Americans and their bearing on academic achievement. The meeting included state education coordinators to assist members in determining what if any actions should be taken to address this issue in their respective states.
