The Department released further guidance to the 11 states and the District of Columbia that were awarded grants under the $4 billion Race to the Top Program. The Department provides additional guidance about making amendments to their applications, specifically requiring states to seek approval before revising their academic goals and timelines, making major alterations to their budgets, and adding or deleting school districts from their plans.
