The Campaign for Excellence has a goal of raising one million dollars to support policy and leadership training activities for members of state boards of education.  Specifically, the Campaign will raise resources for NASBE’s endowment to fund the New State Board Members’ Institute and two annual policy studies (study groups) in perpetuity.

NASBE study groups and the New State Board Members Institute have consistently been evaluated as the organization’s most effective professional development tools. The NASBE Board of Directors believes it is critical to build the endowment to assure the continuity and integrity of these vital functions: Board Member development and education policy research.

Naming opportunities for the New Member Institute and the study groups may be endowed for $100,000 each. One study group has already been claimed in memory of the late Weaver Rogers, former North Carolina State Board of Education Executive Director. Weaver’s widow Brenda is a member of the Endowment Campaign Committee.
