The Finance and Audit Committee is responsible for the fiscal aspects of the association. The Secretary/Treasurer is the chair of the committee and a member of the Board of Directors. The committee is responsible for the annual budget and the annual audit of the association.
The role of the Government Affairs Committee is to provide a forum for discussion of issues which have become the subject of federal legislation or of importance to a number of states. When legislative and governmental issues arise, the committee is responsible for recommending to the Board of Directors, within the scope of duly adopted resolutions, missions, and beliefs, the application of NASBE policy to legislative and governmental affairs.
The role of the Public Education Positions Committee is to submit new resolutions or position statements and/or amendments to standing resolutions or existing policy statements.
The Nominations Committee is responsible for nominating at least two candidates for each position of President, President-elect, and Area Director based on candidate interviews. Members are contacted requesting recommendations of individuals for these positions. Candidates may be nominated by the Committee.
